Hourly rate : $18.59
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Entry-level tasks in support of the Zoo Department’s Capital Improvement Program;
- Analyze spaces and deliver schematic designs;
- Compile data and prepare reports; create proposals, cost estimates, and preliminary plans;
- Create architectural drawings, communicate information, and incorporate feedback;
- Document existing structures and infrastructure;
- General office duties; and
- Assist in reporting to and coordination between the Zoo and Bureau of Engineering.
WORK HOURS: The position is a part-time position, project-based, for a maximum of 1000 hours work per year. Work hours will generally fall within the period Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. It is anticipated that project needs will require work eight (8) hours a day for two days a week and four (4) hours a day for one day a week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Completion of four years of education in a recognized college or university is required. Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or Civil Engineering is desired. Must be experienced in use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and PhotoShop. Previous work or volunteer experience in architecture; project management; and creating proposals, cost estimates, and preliminary plans is desired.
