Celebrate Black History Month at the Los Angeles Zoo
Contact: Jason Jacobs Weekend event to feature song, dance, crafts, and food WHAT: The Los Angeles Zoo will celebrate Black History Month with a two-day event highlighting the music, food, crafts and traditions of African Americans. Entertainment at the event will include jazz musicians, a reggae band, tap dance and gospel music. There also will be special African wrap doll workshops and an African marketplace. Graphic displays will highlight the contributions and achievements of African Americans in the Zoo and Aquarium industry. WHEN: 10am - 4pm, Saturday, February 23, and Sunday, February 24 WHERE: Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, 5333 Zoo Drive, Griffith Park WHO: Saturday and Sunday ### The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is located in Griffith Park at the junction of the Ventura (134) and Golden State (5) freeways. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 2 to 12. The Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For general information, call 323/644-4200. |
