What are the daytime Party Space locations and their costs?

Treetops Birthday Party Gazebo #1 accommodates up to 40 people for a fee of $150.00
Treetops Birthday Party Gazebo #2 accommodates up to 80 people for a fee of $225.00
A portion of Historic Treetops accommodates up to 150 people for a fee of $350.00
Exclusive rental of Historic Treetops accommodates up to 400 people for a fee of $600.00

What does the fee include?

The space fee is to reserve a private area for your party.  It comes with tables and seating. Your reserved time is for 2 hours.

Do we need admission tickets?

Yes, each party participant, including hosts, must have an admission ticket to get to your party location.  LA Zoo membership privileges apply, so if you and/or your guests are members, your membership cards may be used for entry. Adult fee is $15.00, children, ages 2-12, fee is $12.00, and children under 2 are admitted without charge. Admission tickets may be purchased the day of your party or purchased in advance.  Parties of 15 people or more qualify for the group discount ticket rate, and are to be purchased at window #11.  To receive the group price rate, a minimum of 15 tickets must be purchased. We cannot issue refunds for guests who do not show up since admission tickets are non-refundable. The LA Zoo does not have a “Will Call” area, so you will need to hand out admission tickets to your guests. We advise listing a start time of 15-30 minutes prior to your actual scheduled party time on your party invitations so guests will be encouraged to arrive early and find parking before the start of your party. 

Is there a parking charge?

Parking is free or Preferred Parking costs $5.00 per car.

May I bring decorations?

Yes, our tables are 46” round tables. For the safety of our animals, balloons, straws, streamers, glass bottles, whistles, balls, Frisbees, glitter, string-a-can, silly string, live animals, electric toys, piñatas, sparkles, stickers and confetti are not allowed.  We do not recommend bringing anything that requires hanging.

May I come early to set-up? What about clean-up?

You may begin set up 30 minutes prior to your assigned party time.  Parties must be completed by either 12:30pm or 3:30pm.  All clean-up is your responsibility and must be completed 30 minutes after your party.  To encourage consideration for the next party hosts, a $30.00 fee will be charged for every 15 minutes your party exceeds its designated time.  A $60.00 fee will be assessed if the space is not cleaned.

Will there be a party coordinator?  Are there any activities?

For those ordering food, you will have a point person for catering only.  Otherwise, you have the freedom to create your own itinerary and activities.

May I bring in my own food?

You may bring in your own food or order from our in-house caterer.  The food options include water, soda, and paper goods.  Should you decide to bring your own food, we do not have a means to help you transport items to your party space; we suggest bringing a wagon to help you cart items between your vehicle and party location.  You will not have use of a kitchen, refrigerator or access to any electrical outlets for heating food.  We do not have storage facilities for food or gifts.  Bringing in alcohol is strictly prohibited.

How do I reserve a space?

To reserve a party location, email or call Monday-Friday (323) 644-4781 for availability.  Reservations are on a first come, first served basis and are only concrete when full payment of the location fee is received.

Can I cancel?

If you are unable to attend your party, the payments you have made are considered charitable contributions and may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.  Charitable contribution letters are available upon request.  Parties will take place regardless of weather. The party space reservation, Animal WalkAbout, and any add-on food orders cannot be rescheduled.

When are food and add-on orders due?

Final party count, food orders, and payment are due by noon the Tuesday prior to your party.  Food orders or other add-ons will be charged to your credit card the Tuesday before your party.

What add-ons do you offer and what is the cost?

  • $200.00 – Animal WalkAbout – 30 minutes with a zookeeper and a bird of prey or reptile
  • $175.00 – Face Painter – 1 hour
  • $175.00 – Caricature Artist – 1 hour
  • $3.00 – Carousel Ride, per ride
  • $5.00 – Goodie Bags
