Pokémon GO Trainers: “Be the Very Best” at the L.A. Zoo
Join us for the ultimate Pokémon GO meet up July 25 through 29, 2016.
- Catch ‘em all! Each day (Monday through Friday), we’ll drop lures among our 45+ PokéStops and share lure locations on our Twitter feed (@LAZoo) as they are deployed.
- Get $3 off admission when you arrive at 2 p.m. or later. Simply show your mobile device with the Pokémon GO app when you buy your ticket.*
- Take a break from walking and hop aboard the Zoo’s slow-but-steady Safari Shuttle to incubate your PokéEggs, and travel to different parts of the Zoo in search of PokéStops. (Safari Shuttle information below.)
- Take photos of pokémon at the L.A. Zoo and share on Twitter using #LAZooPokeWeek for a chance to win a Zoo membership—a year’s worth of choice pokémon catching!
Daily Zoo hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Got limited time? Arrive after 2 p.m. and receive $3 off admission when you show your Pokémon GO app-loaded mobile device at the box office. (Limit one discounted ticket per customer, per device. Discount available at the box office only.)
Lures will be deployed at the top of every hour, with the last lure of the day being activated at 4 p.m. (A lure attracts pokémon to a specific PokéStop. Once activated, the effect lasts 30 minutes.) We encourage you to arrive when the gates open to make the most of your experience.
With 45+ PokéStops located throughout the Zoo, it’s almost impossible to run out of Pokéballs. Most PokéStops are located near animal exhibits or works of art.
Are you Team Mystic? Valor? Or Instinct? Battle for control of the Zoo’s three gyms and earn some serious XP. Claim your rightful place and help each pokémon understand its power!
The Safari Shuttle makes five stops along the perimeter of the Zoo, travels slow enough to incubate PokéEggs, and ends its daily operation between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Cost is $4 for adults, $2 for children, and $1.50 for seniors.
Safety—of our visitors and our animals—is our number-one priority. Please remember to respect the Zoo’s animals and plants.
For your own safety, and the safety of our animals, visitors are strictly prohibited from going behind the scenes or into unauthorized areas. Please do not attempt to access any elements in non-public areas of the Zoo.
To report an issue, call Zoo security at 323-644-4258.
Share photos of your L.A. Zoo Pokémon catches on Twitter or Instagram using #LAZooPokeWeek for a chance to win the grand prize of a Zoo Individual Plus Membership. Other prizes include tickets to our special Dinosaurs exhibit and nighttime music series Roaring Nights. Winners will be selected at random from among qualified entries on Monday, August 1, 2016. See Official Rules.
Longtime Pokémon trainers know that to “be the very best,” they need to stay hydrated and carry an external battery pack. Don’t forget that pokémon aren’t the only creatures found at the Zoo, so be sure to look around you and appreciate all the real animals!
Please be aware that no refunds can be issued in the event that Pokémon GO servers are down.
*One discounted ticket per customer who presents mobile device with Pokémon GO app loaded.
