Student Volunteers
Similar to the Docent program, our Student Volunteer program is open to high school students currently in if the 9th, 10th, or 11th grade and the spring. Students participate in a 13 week class, meetings on Sundays, learning about conservation, ecology, and abbreviated taxonomy of the animals here at the Zoo.
Upon completion of the class, students are then eligible to participate in our Roots & Shoots program, some educational opportunities for visitors, as well as most General Volunteer programs.
The Fall Program starts in September and runs through December, and the Spring Program runs from February through May.
