Program Information

Bring your group, troop, or pack to the Zoo for an indoor all-night interactive experience. Tour the Zoo after dark, enjoy a pizza/salad feast, participate in hands-on animal activities, and fall asleep to beastly bedtime stories. In the morning enjoy a continental breakfast and then meet some of the Zoo’s amazing animal ambassadors. Scout groups have the opportunity to earn a badge during this overnight experience. This event is designed for children ages 6 through 12.

Zoopendous Nights Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my group has been confirmed for a reservation for a Zoopendous Nights Program?

You will receive a Zoopendous Nights confirmation email within one week from the date that the reservation request was received. Reservations will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis and we will fill the available Zoopendous Nights programs in the order received. If your group is confirmed fora Zoopendous Nights program, a confirmation email will be sent by the end of August to the contact email on the reservation. This email will confirm the Zoopendous Nights program date for your group and the total number of adults and children included in the reservation.

Once my group has received a confirmation email for our reservation, what happens next?

The confirmation email will include a link to the Zoo webstore where your group will be required to pay a $300 non-refundable deposit to reserve your date. The balance for the reservation is due eight (8) weeks prior to your Zoopendous Nights program date.

What if I have to cancel my entire reservation?

Cancellations requested up to four (4) weeks prior to your Zoopendous Nights program date will be issued a full refund  less the $300 non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than four weeks prior to your Zoopendous Nights program date.

What if I need to ADD participants to my reservation?

If you need to add participants to your reservation please email us at [email protected].  Additional participants will be accommodated subject to available capcity for your Zoopendous Nights program date. There is no guarantee that additional participants can be accommodated after your initial reservation confirmation.

What if I need to DELETE participants from my reservation?

Once your reservation is confirmed, no refunds will be given for participants who do not attend.

If I am signing up for the Zoopendous Nights “Scout” program, do my kids earn a badge?

Everyone (adults and children) participating in  the “Scout” Zoopendous Nights programs (Cub Scouts, Brownies, or Junior Girl Scouts) will receive a Zoo Overnight badge as part of the program.

Are badges included for Community/School Group Zoopendous Nights programs?

Badges are not included with the Community/School Group Zoopendous Nights programs.

Creature Camp Out

Program Times: Saturday 6:30 p.m. to Sunday 10 a.m.

Program Cost: $85/person

This event is designed for children ages five and up. Each tent must have at least one adult chaperone.

This summer, grab your sleeping bag and prepare to experience the Zoo like never before. Sleep in a tent under the stars and listen to the nighttime sounds of the zoo. This outdoor experience includes guided evening and morning tours of the Zoo, interactive programs for young and old, a nighttime snack, and live animal presentations. Tents are included, as well as a Continental breakfast. Perfect for families and groups who love camping and the outdoors without the travel!

Cancellation Policy

NO refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the program date. For cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of the program date a 75% refund will be given. The Los Angeles Zoo reserves the right to cancel any program. In the event that The Los Angeles Zoo cancels a program, all program fees will be refunded. Cancellation requests must be made in writing and sent to [email protected]. Please include your name, the program name and date you are asking to cancel, your confirmation number, and your phone number.
