Eligibility: The Los Angeles Zoo ECO-CELL 2024 Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) are open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of date of Sweepstakes entry (“Entrants”). Employees of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (“GLAZA” or the “Sponsor”), the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens (“Los Angeles Zoo”), and SSA Group, LLC (“SSA”), their divisions and/or subsidiaries, and the immediate families of each, or persons living in the same household of such employees are not eligible. The Sweepstakes are governed by U.S. laws and are subject to all federal, state and local laws. Void in Puerto Rico, outside the U.S. and where prohibited or restricted. By participating in the Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Sweepstakes Rules and the decisions of the judges and administrators which shall be final and binding in all respects.

No Purchase Necessary: NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES. A purchase or payment of any kind will not increase the chance of winning.
Promotion Period: The Sweepstakes will be held at the Los Angeles Zoo on April 20 and 21, 2024 (“Promotion Period”).
How to Enter: The Official Entry Forms (“Entry Forms”) will be available during the Promotion Period at the sweepstakes table located at the ECO-CELL booth inside the Zoo. To enter the Sweepstakes, Entrants must donate a qualifying handheld electronic device and submit one (1) Entry Form to the GLAZA representative on duty at the sweepstakes table within the Zoo or the Membership booth at the Zoo’s front entrance. Entrants must provide their names and email addresses on the Entry Forms as a condition of entry.
Limit: Limit one (1) Sweepstakes entry per donated qualifying device, up to a maximum of five (5) donated devices per entrant.
Entrants’ Personal Information: By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to be added to Sponsor’s email lists and will be informed about GLAZA programs and events. After entering, Entrants may opt out of receiving email communications at any time. To opt out, Entrants should send an email to webmaster@lazoo.org.
Prize/Approximate Retail Value/Odds of Winning: One (2) Sweepstakes prizes will be awarded. The Sweepstakesprize consists exclusively of one (1) one-year Family Membership to the Los Angeles Zoo (“Sweepstakes Prize”). Membership and admission to the Los Angeles Zoo are subject to the terms and conditions of GLAZA. A one-year Family Membership will be issued in the name of the Sweepstakes Prize winner (“Winner”). Approximate retail value of each Sweepstakes Prize is $150. The odds of winning depend upon the number of valid entries received. Based upon past attendance at the Los Angeles Zoo, the odds are approximately 1 in 20,000.
Sweepstakes Drawings: The Sweepstakes Prize drawing will take place on or around April 22, 2024 and will be conducted by a random selector among all valid Sweepstakes entries received during the Promotion Period. All decisions shall be final and binding in all respects. The potential Winner will be notified via email within twenty-four (24) hours of the Sweepstakes drawings. The potential Winner must reply via email to the prize notification within five (5) days of attempted notification. The potential Winner will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected if the potential Winner fails to reply via email within five (5) days, or if prize notification email is returned as undeliverable. The potential Winner may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement and Publicity Authorization and Release (except where prohibited by law) and such other documents reasonably required by Sponsor.
Conditions of Participation and Certain Restrictions: Entrants are solely responsible for entering the Sweepstakes during the Promotion Period, as well as replying to a prize notification email within five (5) days. The winner must agree to certain terms and conditions related to eligibility, release of liability, and Sponsor’s use of Winner’s name and/or likeness for publicity, advertising and promotional purposes. Noncompliance may result in disqualification. Taxes on Sweepstakes Prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the Winner. All entries become the property of GLAZA and will not be acknowledged or returned. By entering, Entrants acknowledge compliance with these Official Sweepstakes Rules, including all eligibility requirements. By participating, Entrants agree to release GLAZA, the Los Angeles Zoo, SSA, their divisions and/or subsidiaries, their wholesalers, retailers or distributors or advertising and promotion agencies and each of their respective officers, directors, trustees, members, employees, agents or representatives (collectively, “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, demands, losses and liabilities of any nature whatsoever, which Entrants may now or hereafter be entitled to assert, including but not limited to, any death, injury, loss of enjoyment, damage to computer equipment, or other harm or loss of any nature whatsoever caused or contributed to by participation in the Sweepstakes, the Sweepstakes Prize awarded in the Sweepstakes and/or in connection with the awarding, receipt and use or misuse of Sweepstakes Prize, and/or claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Released Parties are not responsible for misdirected, late, lost, delayed, inaccurate, damaged, garbled, incomplete, undelivered or stolen entries, delayed or misdirected entries for whatever reason, for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, cable, satellite, Internet Service Provider (ISP) or other connections, or for errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects or delayed transmissions or in operations or transmission of information, in each case whether arising by way of technical or other failures or malfunctions of computer hardware, software, communications devices, or transmission lines, or data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entry materials, loss or otherwise and any mechanical, electronic, network, computer, printing, typographical, human or other error relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries, the announcement of the Sweepstakes Prize or in any Sweepstakes-related materials. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond their reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, the Sponsor reserves the right to award the Sweepstakes Prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Sweepstakes Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies (including attorneys’ fees) from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Sweepstakes Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
