Go behind the glass at our world-renowned reptile and amphibian house, which is home to many rare species. Meet and chat with the keepers and participate in a hands-on experience with one of our scaly residents. 45 minutes.
Seals and Sea Lions
Get a “backstage pass” at Sea Life Cliffs and see what it takes to be a trainer for our seals and sea lions — a.k.a. pinnipeds. Watch our keepers encourage behaviors that help the animals participate in their own health care and learn about our Zoo’s role in rescue programs for local pinnipeds. Your unforgettable tour will conclude with a photo op with one of our sea lions. 45 minutes.
Giant River Otters
Get to know the very vocal giant river otters so well, you may start to understand what they’re squeaking about! With the help of an expert keeper, feed the otters from the beautiful Stilt House at Rainforest of the Americas. 45 minutes.
Learn what goes into caring for the Zoo’s largest residents at Elephants of Asia – from feeding to health care to physical and mental enrichment and more. You’ll see why it “takes a village” to nurture our herd. 45 minutes.
Condors & Conservation
The Zoo’s mission is to save animals every day, and no two species illustrate this commitment more powerfully than the critically endangered California condor and peninsular pronghorn. Explore our condor facility, which is normally closed to the public, and meet the dedicated keepers there. Then, tour the peninsular pronghorn barn for an up-close experience with our herd. Tour is not ADA accessible. 75 minutes.
