With the addition of a new gorilla infant – a sibling for Angela – five great apes have made their public debut at the LA Zoo! One gorilla, one orangutan, and THREE chimpanzees!

A solar carport with EV charging is coming to the L.A. Zoo! Initiated by the Mayor and L.A. City Council, a major new clean energy initiative is on its way and designed to support a more resilient, sustainable future for the Zoo, the City, and the surrounding community.

Zootoberfest is a new weekend-long, family-friendly Oktoberfest-themed celebration that will transform the L.A. Zoo into a festive fall destination featuring German-inspired food, live Oktoberfest bands, specialty beer and root beer floats, lawn games, and more!

Zoo Quest Returns

From the creators of the nation-wide hit Locked Zoo, the L.A. Zoo presents Zoo Quest: Dress Code – the Zoo’s second edition of the popular escape-room inspired event. Zoo Quest is and an after-hours, zoo-wide series of puzzle solving games in which participants work in teams to solve an elaborate series of puzzle clues across the zoo grounds, in a one-of-a-kind adventure. Featuring live DJs, a line-up of food trucks, keeper talks, and more.

Boo at the L.A. Zoo

L.A.’s most beloved family Halloween tradition returns and the spirit of the season will be in full swing for two fun-filled weekends with trick-or-treating stations, special keeper talks, animal pumpkin enrichment sessions, themed photo ops, live performances and more.  Costumes are encouraged!
