Family Nature Club

Play has never been so natural!

Family Nature Club is back – and, in partnership with L.A. Department of Recreation & Parks, we’re exploring beyond the Zoo! Join us for FREE nature play on the last Saturday of every month.

A child in a gray sweatshirt reaches out with a twig toward blue rubber bands stretched across nails embedded in logs, creating a pattern of criss-crossing strands.
Assorted cut fruits and vegetables are covered in blue, red, and green paint and sit on brown paper showing paint imprints.
A child with curly brown hair looks down and pats wet sand in a metal tin with one hand and holds a silver ladle in the other hand, with two more children crouching down and an adult caregiver sitting nearby.

What

Family Nature Club participants will spend the morning enjoying loosely structured outdoor play – exploring nature through art and building, observation and imagination.

Who

Accessibility

Limited parking (including accessible spaces) is available adjacent to the play area and larger parking lots are nearby. Restrooms (including single and accessible stalls) are available a short distance away. Our activities will take place primarily in a grass area, and this space is accessible by a combination of grass and paved paths. Some paths are uneven or currently undergoing maintenance.

This event takes place in an open space and is accessible to any park visitor. Due to the public nature of this space, there may be unplanned noises, activity, and visual stimuli near our Family Nature Club location. We will have a limited number of free sensory bags (with headphones and fidgets) available to borrow during the program.

For more information on the program, contact Elise Lolli-Bregoff, Zoo Curator of Education at [email protected] or 323-644-4709.
